Mrs Representation

Yesterday and the day before we started this movie called Mrs Representation. The movie was about how girls feel like they should act and be in society because society and media tells them to do be "pretty","hot", "skinny", and "curvy"enough for people to like them. Grown Men were treating Women like objects in this film. Guys who would do news cast and sports cast would talk about "hot" girls like they were a desert or something. It was disgusting the way Guys were treating and talking about women. I wanted to punch so many of them in the face. they would talk about how Sarah Palin was good looking and dumb but then say Hilary Clinton was a b!tc# and ugly. I didn't understand why they would say such horrible things. After the movie all us Girls were talking about why girls would act slutty and people said to get attention and because of the media. More then half of the directors and writers are men and want more guys to watch TV so they make "silly" and "funny" commercials and films to get the guys attention. So the directors would most likely want a good looking lady to come and act "hot" to try and get the guys attention. There was one commercial where a little boy asked this this Lady to open his pop ad her boobs were like all out and he was staring at them. It was meant to be funny and i was for a second and then i thought like wow this is degrading to women. We then started to talk about how its a kind of a good thing that our class is all girls class, but girls can be very self conscious. you look at a girl and you start to compare your flaws with her beauty's and it can become somewhat of a problem because you start to think "wow i wish i could look like that" and I'm pretty sure every girl in this class including myself feel like this. This movie was really good and i liked it even though some pars made me mad.

November 13th and 14th

Two weeks a Get fit class went to the panorama school of dance, It was so much fun. I really enjoyed doing the things before we actually started to dance. I think that would be a really fun activity to do in class one day because when i was in dance in grade 8 we would do something like that and i felt good after. For the dancing portion i really like that as well because it was really fun and you get a work out from it. i really liked the moves and the song was fun.

Getting to Know Your Classmates.

1.Write about something that you are proud of so far this semester...........

So far this semester i achieved some new things about my Get Fit self that have made me proud. Trying my hardest has made me proud because before i would just do whatever because i wasn't liking what we were doing.

2.  Write about what you have learned.......

I have leaned that when you work hard you can start to see improvement. I like the fact that we chose what to do with our selfs in clase its just the matter of doing it. it is more injoyable when you have a good teacher.

3.  Write about what your goals are for the end of the course....
 
some of my goals for the end of the course are..........
-get 5.5 on the beep test (right now i get around 4.5)
-get under 30 mins on the community run (i get around 30 mins now.)

3 weeks in 1

Two weeks ago we did a dance week that consisted of mostly Hip Hop. I had a great time I really like Hip Hop. when i was 9 i was in Hip Hop classes. 
Last week on  Monday people went to the ice rink and went skating a majority of us did not go because we could not get out of class, well for me I had a Spanish test to write so I couldn't come otherwise I would have, even though I don't know how to skate. also for that week we were in the weight room so we did 5 minutes of cardio and then we had a sheet to fill out what we did like for our muscles.
This week was a regular week we were in the large gym and on Monday we played volleyball it was a lot of fun, Tuesday we did modified Beep Test, we had to keep running to the finish beep but we could take up to a maximum of three beep break. 
and today we are typing our blogs.
Next week I wont be here because I will be in MEXICO I am really excited. I have been there before and I am going to the same resort. I am going because my aunt is getting married there. I am going to be the photographer. :)

Long Time No Post :P

I haven't posted in a while. What i have done so far in class is ...

*circuit- we did a circuit work out where you do 30 seconds on 30 seconds off. i really enjoy these fitness days. the circuits are my favourite out of any of the fitness's.
*hill run- the hill run is also one of my favourite fitness's it is probably second on my list. there were a total round of 18 runs and i only did 15 so all together i took 3 breaks.
*Spitz- we went to a gymnastics place called Spitz and it was a lot of fun just my foot was hurting so when i was doing cartwheels and stuff i landed on my hurt foot each time which didn't help but i kept doing it thinking that nothing was wrong with it.
*Tuesday after Spitz- i had gone to the doctor about my foot ... they told me i have a milled sprain and to keep off of it until t starts to feel ok
*zumba- i didn't do it because of my foot (i was sad because it looked like fun)
*day after thanksgiving- there was a circuit and a mini community run. Camille and i tried to do our best (she had just got her wisdom teeth pulled). so we walked the community run and we both did the circuit just not 100%.
*zumba- i did the zumba this time i just didn't hop on my foot when the jumping parts came i didn't o them but i did a "modified" version of it.
*Thursday October 11 2012- bhangra- yesterday we did bhangra i didn't hop around again because my foot is still really hurting.

** i play ball hockey every Wednesday night so October 10 i did play just not to my fullest. i played because my foot was alright and in class that day i did zumba so i thought i would play but when we were finished my foot killed. i was in so much pain every time i walked on it so here i was thing oh i will be better by the end of the week but nope i had to go and hurt myself even more.

Get Fit PE

This semester i have Get Fit PE ...
So far in this class we have done a variety of things such as ....  walking around the school on the first day doing boot camp and yoga, the pond run, parkour, community run, and yesterday (September 18 2012) we went to Grouse Mountain to do the grouse grind :) . i had done it on the Sunday before and it took me 2 and a half hours. Because we had a time limit on this field trip, i was not able to make it all the way up. I made it to the 1/4 mark in 45 minutes i then had to turn around and walk back down.
